PageSpeed and Conversion Rate Benchmarks by Industry (2026 Edition)
Generic benchmarks lose deals. Niche-specific benchmarks close them. Here's the 2026 reference table for PageSpeed, Core Web Vitals, and conversion rates across 10 high-value verticals.
Why Industry-Specific Benchmarks Matter
Telling a roofer their site needs to convert at 4% is meaningless — the average roofing site converts at 1.8%. Telling a SaaS founder their 1.8% is "fine" is equally wrong — top-quartile SaaS landing pages convert at 9%+.
When you pitch with the right benchmark for the right industry, the prospect can't argue with the gap. When you pitch with a generic number, they dismiss you as someone who doesn't understand their business.
The 2026 Benchmark Table
All numbers are pulled from public Chrome User Experience Report data, BuiltWith vertical analyses, and aggregated industry conversion studies. Mobile-first since >65% of B2C and >48% of B2B traffic is now mobile.

What These Numbers Tell You
The conversion gap between median and top-quartile in every vertical above is at least 2.5×. That gap is almost always explained by three factors:
- Mobile speed — every additional second of LCP cuts conversion by roughly 7%.
- Conversion engineering — clear primary CTA, friction-free forms, sticky phone number on mobile.
- Trust signals — verified reviews, real photos, clear pricing, recognizable trust badges.
How to Use Benchmarks in a Sales Conversation
Open with the prospect's actual mobile PageSpeed score. Then drop the median and top-quartile numbers for their vertical. Math does the rest:
"Your mobile speed is 38. The median in automotive is 38, so you're average. But the top quartile is 62, and dealerships at 62 convert at 3% versus the 0.9% you're at. On 5,000 monthly visitors, that's roughly 105 missed inquiries a month."
You're not selling — you're delivering data. The prospect closes themselves.
